Dark Stars: Battle for the Eternal Crystal

The Legion led by Commander Orion fights the evil Star Slayers - A group of 7 evil space lords led by the sorceress Arpina.

The Legion strives to protect the Eternal Crystal from falling into the hands of the Star Slayers who will stop at nothing to acquire all 7 pieces of the Eternal Crystal which controls the light of the stars.

Our vision is to develop the Dark Stars Project into a sci-fi themed media franchise in the vein of classic 80’s cartoon animations we grew up on such as the ThunderCats, SilverHawks, G.I. Joe, just to name a few.

Offered as a series, The Dark Stars Project has a potential to showcase 1 of 7 Crystals and 1 of 7 Evil Star Slayers at the center conflict of each story - but beyond a traditional series the story has the possibility to be experienced through toys, video games, comic books, TV, Movies and so much more.

We chose the name Dark Stars for the ability to succinctly explain the major conflict our characters meet: dying stars and the quest to return the light!

To further share our vision,

We look to showcase our pilot story/episode into a 25 page digital comic book.

The comic book will allow us to show our story complete - something we were unable to do on our own with video and photos.

With the Dark Stars Project comic book in a digital form we will be able to show our story in full - something we were unable to do ourselves with the video concept we created.

Introducing 80's animation illustrator - Dell Barras

We are partnering with 80s animation illustrator Dell Barras.

Dell comes directly from our inspiration for Dark Stars Project - the early 1980's childhood Saturday morning entertainment.

He started his career in comics in the 1970s, publishing titles such as 'Ang Taong Isda', 'Samsona' and 'Mariela Morena'. In 1984, he began working for USA publishers DC Comics and Marvel, on comics like 'Blue Beetle', 'The Incredible Hulk' and 'Conan the Barbarian'.

Delfin "Dell" Barras was also a model and background design artist on the second season of the original Transformers animated series and background design on The Transformers: The Movie.

Dell's experience on shows like these will help us deliver the Dark Stars Project in a familiar look and tone that matches our inspiration.

After 30 days on Kickstarter to fund our digital comic book, we successfully met our funding goal thanks to your support and encouragement. We look forward to producing this comic book and introducing our original story and dynamic characters.

With the Dark Stars Project Debut Comic Book in a digital form we are a step closer to fulfilling our end goal of developing the Dark Stars Project into a sci-fi themed media franchise. The digital comic book will assist us in promoting the series and pitching it across multiple platforms including additional comic books, games, animation series and so much more!
